These standards are, amongst other criteria, the basis against which complaints made against a Sports Therapist are assessed.
The Standards as laid out in this document cover:
- Professional autonomy and accountability.
- Professional relationships.
The skills required for the application of practice:
- Identification and assessment of injury and risk factors associated with participation in exercise and competitive and/or recreational sport.
- Formulation and delivery of plans and strategies for meeting sports and exercise injury prevention, management and rehabilitation needs.
- Critical evaluation of the impact of, or response to, the therapist’s actions.
