Fellow Members

The SST Fellowship (FSST) is the Society’s highest category of membership and recognises sports therapists who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the profession. Fellowship is not awarded on length of service alone; it reflects excellence in ethical practice, ongoing professional development and a clear commitment to advancing Sports Therapy as a discipline.

Open to eligible Graduate Members, Fellowship provides an opportunity to reflect on your career, showcase your achievements and be recognised for the impact of your work as a practitioner, academic and/or researcher. Successful applicants are awarded Fellowship of The SST and the right to use the designation FSST.

Criteria

To be eligible to apply for SST Fellowship (FSST) you must meet the following criteria:

• You have held Graduate Membership (MSST) for at least ten years (career breaks for parental leave or illness will be considered)
• You can provide satisfactory CPD records for the last three years
• You have no declarable criminal record
• You have no record of upheld complaints during membership
• You can provide a current CV
• You can demonstrate a significant and sustained contribution to the Sports Therapy profession
• You can nominate one Graduate Member (minimum two years’ standing) to act as your supporter

Guidelines

Please note the following guidelines for The SST Fellowship:

• Fellowship is awarded on achievement and impact, not length of service alone
• You are not required to meet every criterion; evidence of impact across multiple areas is expected
• Fellowship applications are assessed by experienced colleagues and the Board of Directors
• A £50.00 application fee applies*
• The assessment process can take up to one month
• Successful applicants may use the designation FSST

*Please note that if your application is successful, at your next renewal you will be required to pay the Fellow Member subscription rate for 2026 (£155).
