One of the earliest aims of The Society of Sports Therapists was to accredit and validate educational programmes in Sports Therapy and it has done just that, now accrediting 34 BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degrees, 6 MSc and 3 MSci programmes.
The Society has made major advances in the development of accredited educational qualifications and endeavoured to raise standards in Sports Therapy.
The University of North London (now London Metropolitan University) signed a collaborative agreement in 1996 and became the first University to run a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy in collaboration with The Society. Since that time, The Society has made rapid strides as a Membership organisation and now collaborates with thirty fou universities in the UK and two internationally.
